Marathon in Murmansk has been held as a part of the Polar Olympics since 1974. It has been the only cross-country skiing marathon in the USSR for a long time. More than 600 athletes took part in the first event, for many of them it was already a victory. Well-known skiers and Olympic champions of the USSR and Russia Nikolay Zimyatov, Alexander Zavyalov, Vecheslav Vedenin, Sergey Saveliev, Vladimir Smirnov, Nikolay Bazhukov, Vasiliy Rochev, Evgeniy Belyaev, Alexey Prokurorov, Elena Vyalbe, Julia Chepalova, Svetlana Nageykina, Anna Bogaliy, Alexey Petukhov and many others took part and won the competitions. The Marathon program is constantly amended by adding new shorter distances for skiers at any level of sports competence.
There was a time when the Russians called the Norwegians and the Normans the Murman people. Murmansk is a town situated on the Kola Peninsula beyond the Polar Arctic Circle. It is one of the last towns founded by the famous Romanov family in 1916. It was first called Romanov-on-Murman. Now it is the biggest ice-free port in the world beyond the Polar Circle. The regions boasts of a great variety of lakes and springs appeared after three ice-flows happened in the past.

25 CL XC ½ MARATHON
- Participants of 2001 year of birth (men); 1999 year of birth (ladies) and older are admitted
- Groups are formed for 2000-2001 years of birth (men), 1999-1998 years of birth, 1995-1997 years of birth, in 5 year gradation for 1939-1994 years of birth, and for 1938 year of birth and older.
- The winners are participants who take 1-3 places in groups for 2000-2001 years of birth (men), 1999-1998 years of birth, 1995-1997 years of birth
50 CL XC MARATHON
- Participants of 1999 year of birth (men); 1997 year of birth (ladies) and older are admitted
- Groups are formed for 1998-1999 years of birth, 1995-1997 years of birth, in 5 year gradation for 1939-1994 years of birth, and for 1938 year of birth and older.
- The winners are participants who take 1-6 places in the final standing and 1-3 places in each group.

The amount of entry fee until 04.03.2018:
50 XC – 1 500 rub
25 XC – 1 100 rub
If entries are available 05.03 - 21.03.2018:
50 XC – 2 000 rub
25 XC – 1 600 rub
If entries are available in Race office 29-30.03.2018:
50 XC – 5 000 rub
25 XC – 4 500 rub
The 0,2 km participants are free of entry fee.
For Euroloppet passport holders there is 20% discount of entry fee.

Bibs distribution by registration and the entry fee payment will be handed out in Race office - sport center "Dolina Yjuta"

INSURANCE
To receive a bib, participants must provide identification document; original of the medical certificate dated not before 6 months until the date of the competition with the seal of the issuing institution, doctor’s signature, and indication of permission to participate in the competition in the selected distance race; personal life, health, and accident insurance; and fill out a claim on personal responsibility for their own health.
CANCELLATION POLICY
In case of not participating in the competitions, the entry fee is returned after an application of the participant to organizators:
for 31 calendar days before the start - 50% of entry fee,
from 30 to 10 calendar days before the start - 25% of entry fee.
less than 10 calendar days before the start the entry fee is not returned.
In case of illness or absence, race cancellation due to the bad weather conditions or circumstance beyond the control of the organizers, the entry fee will not be refunded. Competitors who are unable to take part in the race may transfer their entry fee to a person of their choice or transfer the 50% of the entry fee as prepayment for their participation in the next season competition in 2019. It is also possible to change the race distance in case of vacant bibs.
The pre-registration is possible only with written application sent to the Race Office email lebedeva@csp51.ru until 21.03.2018.
Participants starting the race under false name will be disqualified.
