The ski marathon on Komela was held for the first time in 2017. The marathon's course goes mostly through the forest. The total climb in 50 km is 760 meters. According to the relief, the circle can be divided into 2 parts, first one includes steep descents and steep slopes, the second one is mostly flat with small drafts.
These places along the small river Komela was called the "Bear's Edge" several centuries ago. Nowdays the skiers "drove" the clubfooters and built the "Komela" Sports and Recreation Center. The Komel bear is now the logo of the marathon. During the World War II the ski route Vologda-Gryazovets (45 km) passed here. In 2016 the 20 km ski race was held and in 2017 after increasing the circle up to 12.5 km, the first 50 km FT marathon is being organized. The date of the marathon in these snowy lands is the third Sunday of January . -

HOW TO GET US?
By car from Yaroslavl: along the M8 highway, 26 km before Vologda, turn right at the sign "Shuyskoe", 4 km to the center of sports and recreation "Komela"
By bus: from the Vologda bus station (near the railway station), by route "Vologda-Gryazovets" to the village Dyakonovo (Gryazovets district) .Then 300 meters by feet to the Komela sport center. The cost is approximately 100 rubles. Optimal departure time from Vologda is 7:31 or 9:56.
